Disinformation Reports Processing

Transparency is a very important value for us at TotooBa.Info. We want to make sure that information is available about how we store and process disinformation reports you submit through our reporting forms, who gets to have access to these reports.

Who can access submitted citizen reports?

Reports go into the TotooBa.Info disinformation database, which collects all reports received from both the webpage reporting form and the browser extension reporting form.

Who gets access to the disinformation database?

Only select members of the Initiative for Media Freedom and collaborators get to have access to the disinformation database. Collaborators would include fact-checking initiatives that can benefit from having access to the disinformation database, and other civil society organizations and newsrooms with campaigns or initiatives that aim to counter disinformation.

Details about the Initiative for Media Freedom partners and the collaborators will be published on the About page.

Can the disinformation reports I submitted be tracked back to me?

TotooBa.Info is a privacy-first platform. With this being said, we made it a point not to collect any personally identifiable information from users submitting disinformation reports. All information kept in the disinformation database is about the disinformation items and not the people who reported them.
